“This is a really paradise place to live in, close by beach, quiet, birds song...;
Additionally Dennis, who is a very nice guy, arranged everything best. I will choose this place next time. Thank you so much Dennis you did everything, that made my vacation much more memorable.”

“A LITTLE ECCENTRICITY REFLECTS THE LOCAL LIFESTYLE!
First off the picture does not do the place justice. Dennis is an eccentric ex-clown with an addiction to antique shops (Your sumptuous breakfast will be served on differently patterned bone china on the upstairs lanai each day. We stayed in The Victoria Rose King Suite - A good size with a comfortable seating arrangement for relaxing over a glass of wine or a book?
The mattress on the king sized bed appeared normal. Ah but it consisted of 2 inflated halves. A unique concept. She wants it hard. You want it soft etc! My partners side deflated on the first night but worked to perfection on the second! All in the fun of the place!!!! The location in the middle of a field seemed a bit remote at first glance but with a car (essential) we found lots to see in the area. Dennis was a hive of local information and sent us to great restaurants in Pahoa, fascinating black sand beaches and local markets right out of the 60's. That's what this side of the island is all about. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this unique spot!”
Visited 3/21 to 3/23/14 — Vancouver, B.C.

“A gem of spacious, quiet beauty....
The couples' suite opens to a veranda and majestic ocean views from the hill-crest of this lovely home's solitude. With complete internet access and silence, this is a true retreat to return to from the many discoveries of the eastern Big Island. Each of our five days' morning breakfasts were 'feasts', prepared by the charming owner/host Dennis. Reasonable and self-sufficient (with mini-kitchen), it always felt so welcoming to return to and start another day from.... Will definitely return!”

“Great central location on Hilo side of Hawaii
Stayed 3 days, would stay longer !
When we mapped out the location, we were skeptical, but Plumeria Hill turned out to be a terrific location for exploring the East coast of the Big Island, everything from Hilo, to the lighthouse to Volcano National Park.
The room was spotless, very comfortable and had lot's of nice touches that made the stay easy, especially the antique-full sitting area (plus a good coffee pot, fridge, internet, beach towels, lot's of toiletries).
And Dennis's breakfasts are legendary. They were all different, delicious, and mammoth! You will not need lunch!
Finally, Dennis is a delightful host. Get him to show you his circus tricks on the hanging silk cloths.”

“This was a great respite after viewing hot lava – It was also my birthday! What a wonderful way to say goodnight – with all the birds & frogs (?) chirping.
So glad you had an opening for us. Breakfast – here we come.”

The view from the house is amazing. The surroundigns and position (not far away from the volcano park) are great and allows you to visit the island! On top of this, the manager of the B&B is a lovely person that will help you to understand the real lifestyle of Big Island. And the breakfasts are so delicious... :)”

“I have stayed at other b&b's in Puna district, this is by far the best view of the ocean I have had. Central location made it a short drive to all of the warm ponds, black sand beach and old Paho town. My special eating program was taken care of and the fruit selection each morning was a delight to experience. The presentation was as nice as the new fruit experience.”
Visited 9/27 to 10/1/12 — Payson, AZ

“Hi Dennis,
Thank you for a great short time at your house. I enjoyed Big Island very much and especially the room upgrade :-)
Thanks for a great breakfast! Take care...
I definitely liked the friendly atmosphere of the B&B. Simply gorgeous was the homemade breakfast - according to your wishes - that is included: a basket of tropical fruit, crepe filled with fresh fruit and whipped cream, scrambled eggs topped with cheese, homemade, still warm muffins, freshly brewed coffee. You get it served on the balcony overlooking the still some miles away pacific ocean. And if you like you can have a nice chat with the owner of the B&B, which I found very interesting and welcoming. The place is nearly Coqui-free (I heard just one), which might be an interesting information for other travellers. The owners live in the same house.”

“We stayed in the Victorian room for two nights. Everything you need is there. From shower gel to bathrobes, to beachtowels. A coffee machine, microwave, also books and maps from the area. Great breakfast made by the owner Dennis. Good variaty of food every day. Dennis is a kind man, who can tell you about the environment, with a lot of humor. Gorgeous view over the sea from the rooms. Free wifi connection.”

“Had a nice location with a great view. Short drive to local towns and volcano viewing area, 25mins drive to Hilo and 30mins to the Volcano np.”
Visited 5/30 to 6/1/12 — Bulimba, Australia

“Quiet and comfortable. A fine base station for adventures on the east side of the island. The location is very quiet and peaceful, and the Sleep Number bed gave us our best sleep in years! The Rose Victorian room is spacious and its windows and lanai - with a choice of sun or shade - look out over a forested slope down to a distant view of the ocean. We liked the privacy of a separate entrance, and made good use of the refrigerator, microwave, bathrobes, and good in-room internet access. Just about all the comforts and conveniences of home were there. ... And there likely will be a next time, especially since the "stay 6 days, get the 7th free" deal is cumulative!”
Visited 5/18 to 5/21/12 — Benton, CA

“A great stay - recommended! Spent four nights here and I recommend! Dennis is a fantastic host, funny and a fabulous cook (his pancakes and jam are the best). The room was very comfortable, and the area very peaceful. Although a fair distance outside Hilo, it provided me a great base to explore the south-east corner of the Big Island of Hawaii. My tip, follow the map and directions provided by Dennis to the B&B, you definitely won’t get lost.”
Visited 5/9 to 5/13/12 — Canberra, Australia

“Great place. We stayed for one night and wished we had planned for more. Dennis is a wonderful host and made us feel right at home. Room was very comfortable and had all of the amenities we wanted. The view is spectacular. Breakfast was awesome. This place is close to Pahoa which is really a cute town and we also went to the volcano viewing point, kalapana and several other areas within a very short drive that are fun, picturesque and representative of this side of the big island. Ask Dennis about the Saturday flea market, his cookies and fudge are out of this world.”

“Dear Dennis —
Thank you for making our First B&B experience a pleasant and memorable event. Your guidance in finding entertainment and food was invaluable.
We hope...soon...that your wife will be able to join you here on this lovely island.
Should we get back this way — we will meet again. Mahalo —...
Plumeria Hill was our first experience with a bed and breakfast and it was wonderful. Our host, Dennis, is friendly and knowledgeable--not to mention what great meals he provided. The decor is romantically antique, but the amenities are modern and comfortable. A lovely territorial view, this home provides some of the most beautiful sunrises we saw on this trip. Dennis has some great recommendations for local sightseeing and entertainment.”
Visited 2/16 to 2/18/12 — Gig Harbor, WA

“Celebrating our 45th Anniversary couldn't have been any better. We love a remote, rural setting and Plumeria met our needs. The view of the ocean and orange sunrise was a pleasant introduction, as we arrived the night before in the dark...
The panoramic vista was perfect for birding, which we did in the early morning.
We will recommend Plumeria Hill B&B to anyone & everyone we know or meet...
It was quiet and peaceful and the owner gave us our space and privacy. however, when we because curious and asked questions he was more than happy to tell us all about the antique collection and his wife transported from the mainland. It is amazing! The food was yummy and pleasantly served. The whole experience was easily one of the top three events of our stay on the big island. We would return in a heartbeat!”

“Very comfortable, excellent views. We visit the big island regularly and wanted to stay on the east coast. Plumeria Hill offered an excellent location. Fairly easy to find. The proprietors ... ran a B&B on the mainland. Many amenities are available: internet, sleep number bed, cable, robes, slippers, toiletries, fridge, coffee... Things that just make your stay that much more comfortable. The owners know the local area and can provide recommendations for places to eat and adventures to take (guided or not). Just step outside the room in the morning to sit and watch the sun come up on a true horizon unbroken by mountains, trees, or buildings. Really a lovely visit. We will return.”

“Excellent location relatively near the Vocano National Park. Very quiet and the breakfast was outstanding”

“Aloha Dennis,
We had a great time in Plumeria, the visuals are wonderfull, the room is comfortable and Victorian decor gives a special charm to the place, The breakfast is always delicious and the menu different every day, all prepared by Dennis. It is a very special place indeed.
Thank you for the nice company and all the support given us. Mahalo.
The Plumeria b & b was a pleasant surprise on our trip to the Big Island. The room is excellent with all necessary facilities and is very large and look pretty. The care and sympathetic friend of Dennis is a separate story, the whole breakfast was a treat for the eyes and appetite. It was great time we were staying at this friendly B & B.”
